As our friends in Eco Divers Lembeh, we also did take some actions on Earth Day and the days immediately before.
Our dive team has been divided into two groups, the first one was in charge for a big beach clean-up at Minahasa Lagoon resort’s private beach and the neighbour public beach.
On Monday and Tuesday the second group, with our diving manager, our divemasters and our guests, went out for an UW clean-up; while yesterday it was upsetting to see so much garbage at the City Extra dive spot, we were happy to see a lot less during the second dive.
All activities were coordinated with almost all dive operators in Manado and Bunaken area and the Eco Divers Manado team did then get together at Manado Tateli Beach Resort yesterday afternoon, for a nice catch-up with old and new friends, a meeting with medias (local newspapers’ journalists and photo-reporters were there) followed by a nice dinner and the promise that we’ll repeat these actions again, not only next year for Earth Day, but more often.
See you soon in a cleaner Bunaken National Park and North Sulawesi and happy dives 🙂
