Who we are
This website belongs to White Sands Lembeh and its dive centre, Eco Divers, at Batukota, Lembeh Island, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. If you have any question about your information, write to [email protected].
When you send us an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, country and message, and optionally which trip you are interested in, your dates and the number of people. We use these only to answer you and to deal with your booking. The form sends them to our email inbox; the website itself does not keep a copy. We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry or booking and for our records.
To stop spam, the website turns your connection address into a scrambled code and counts how many messages come from it. The code is kept for one hour and is not linked to your name.
Prices and your country
The company that delivers the website (Cloudflare) tells it which country your connection is in. We use that to choose between euros and dollars, and to show visitors browsing from Indonesia a request to contact us instead of rates. We do not store it.
Counting visitors
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, the type of browser and which website sent you. It does not use cookies and does not follow you from one website to another.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Hostinger and delivered through Cloudflare. Like every website, their servers see your connection address when you visit, and keep it in security and technical records for a limited time.
Google Ads cookies (only if you accept)
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google cookies to see which of our adverts lead to an enquiry. If you accept, Google's tag is loaded and, if you then send an enquiry, Google is told that an enquiry was sent. We use this only to see whether our adverts work. If you decline, Google's tag is never loaded and the website works the same. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Google's own handling of the information is described in Google's privacy policy.
Other websites you may open from here
The availability box comes from Freetobook, our booking system. What you type into it is handled by Freetobook under their own privacy policy, and they may set their own cookies. The video plays on YouTube, and the WhatsApp and social media buttons open those services. Each of them has its own privacy rules once you are there.
What the website keeps in your browser
The website remembers a few small things in your own browser, such as your cookie choice and whether you closed a notice. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom you can also complain to your own data protection authority.
Changes
If we change what the website does, we will change this page and its date.
